George’s studio will be open on Saturday, May 1 & Sunday, May 2 from 11 AM to 3 PM.
My style can best be described as “diverse impressionism”. Each time I start a painting I try to think about what shapes, forms, subject matter and color will reflect the view and feeling I have at the moment. More often than not I am influenced by nature and landscapes. In my major works I feel that it is important for the painting to elicit an element of mystery, a thought or a question. My work should be thought provoking: not just a pretty picture.
I studied art and painting at Massachusetts Liberal Arts College as well as at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My most valuable experience, style and philosophy were acquired at The Art Students League in New York City where I painted under many famous painters.
