My work is an honest confrontation of uncomplicated form. It is rustic and straight forward. I enhance these minimal forms and achieve my color palette, through atmospheric firings. Wood firing my work emphasizes the rugged honesty in a raw charm that can only be achieved in the layering of ash and the flash of the flame. Reds, oranges, yellows and rich browns accent the forms that I create. My functional forms are derivative of industrial objects, barn wood and natural materials as well as the beautiful aged color palette that can only be achieved on these elements through layers and time. These pots are a place for this palette to exist and be enjoyed as part of our daily life.
