Maya Adams-Smith is a ceramic artist who has worked extensively in both ceramic sculpture and pottery for 20 years, and has taught ceramics at the undergraduate level. She holds a BA in ceramics from Lewis and Clark College, a BFA in ceramics from The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and an MFA in ceramics from Clemson University. Drawings that mingle beauty with a bit of weird and elegant wheel made marks show up in the design of my pots. I love the furriness and amazing patterns of animals and exploring the details of things. I enjoy the beauty and engineering of everyday items and objects from the past. I look for beauty in what we think of as mundane.
