Mission and Vision
The Hunterdon Art Tour (THAT)
cultivates awareness of and builds connections
within Hunterdon County’s prolific creative community and
increases recognition for the county
as a vital home and destination for the arts.
The Hunterdon Art Tour (THAT) is devoted to raising the visibility of and building community among artists in Hunterdon County and aspires to promote the county as a thriving arts destination by celebrating its substantial and diverse cultural, historic and agricultural assets.
In homage to the great American road trip, THAT curates a countywide studio tour along many of the region’s scenic by-ways, linking together a mixture of arts venues and artists’ studios as engaging day trips.
Through these enriched interactions, THAT supports a diverse community of artists working in the visual, performing and literary arts.
THAT’s open studios tour is envisioned as a signature event through which artists, arts educators, cultural leaders and creative-minded people can find each other, form peer groups, foster opportunities for collaboration, curate events and exhibitions and engage youth through the schools.
THAT is strengthening partnerships and forging new connections across the county’s 26 municipalities.
