The Hunterdon Watercolor Society is an organization of watercolor artists in the Hunterdon County, New Jersey area. Watercolor artists of all proficiency levels, from beginner through advanced, are welcome. Many of our artists are also accomplished in other mediums.
Members of the Hunterdon Watercolor Society will be displaying and selling their creative works at the Saw Mill at Prallsville Mill in Stockton, NJ. Several members also will be exhibiting work at WhittemoreCCC in Oldwick.
You will find many different media presented in the show to include framed watercolor, oils, mixed media and other works, as well as unframed portfolio pieces and cards by many of the artists.

Chris Mundy will open her studio, Frenchtown Metalworks, and host three other Frenchtown artists.
Artist Deborah Conti of Eye of the Seed uses iconic and colorful imagery derived from the feminine Devine, Mother Earth, joyful life experience, energy growth and thoughtful musings, creating small and large paintings, handmade cards, books and prints.
Artist Nicole Strafaci creates mixed media collage 2- and 3-dimensional works with varied mediums including paint, ink, fabric and yarn. Her recent work incorporate building layers or collaging and deconstructing or decollaging. She finds truth and expression within this process.
Artist Kate House’s unique perspective as an adult with an intellectual disability has inspired her to create colorful collages and whimsical jewelry.
Artist Chris Mundy creates mixed metal art jewelry informed by her fascination with the weird and wonderful world we all live in. Her one-of-a-kind pieces often incorporate found objects.

The Covered Bridge Artisans Studio Tour is a self-guided driving tour visiting artists in their studios within five miles of Stockton, NJ in southern Hunterdon County. The tour was established in 1993 and hosts eight open studios in Lambertville, Stockton, Sergeantsville and Solebury, PA. An additional fourteen artists exhibit their work at the Sergeantsville Firehouse Event Center. Work that is shown includes pottery, sculpture, paintings, fused and stained glass, jewelry, wood-turning, weaving, basketry, quilts, ceramics, bookbinding, photography and blown glass.

Saturday, APRIL 30 marks the opening of “HERE/THERE” and “THERE/HERE.” The locations of these concurrent exhibitions are M Galleries 67 E Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882 and M Galleries PNA 54 Mine Hill Road, Washington, NJ 07882 (at the Pohatcong Native Arboretum). The shows will feature the work of the Princeton-based art group MOVIS. The members of MOVIS include 7 visual artists: Berendina Buist, Susan Hockaday, Eve Ingalls, Marsha Levin-Rojer, Frank Magalhaes, Liz Mitchell, and Frank May; and musician/composer Rita Asch. Representing a diverse group of backgrounds, education, and experience, they share a boundless curiosity, a desire for challenge, and a profound commitment to art-making. Now entering their 17th year together, MOVIS continues to meet weekly to share art-related interests and ideas. They have collaborated on group exhibitions at venues that have included the NJ State Museum, The Hunterdon Art Museum, the Arts Council of Princeton, Rutgers University, and Mercer County Community College.
“HERE/THERE” and “THERE/HERE” has encouraged the artists to think about their work in terms of dualities. Each gallery will exhibit one piece by each of the artists. Some members have taken a temporal perspective by selecting an early work for one gallery and a more contemporary piece for the second. Other members will highlight the breadth of their work by offering pieces using different mediums and/or styles. Still others will exhibit two pieces of the same body of work to give insight into the artist’s ongoing exploration. Work will include sound, photography, video, prints, oil paintings, cut-outs, collage, paper sculpture, as well as hand-made artbooks. The galleries will be open from 11 AM – 9 PM on Saturday, APRIL 30 and Sunday, MAY 1 as part of The Hunterdon Art Tour (THAT). “HERE/THERE” and “THERE/HERE” will run through May and an independent reception for the two galleries is scheduled for Saturday, MAY 21.

Art•Venture is a non-profit arts organization composed of painters, photographers, plein air artists and other creatives living, working and exhibiting in the Flemington, NJ area. Launched in 2019, the group holds regular members’ art shows at Factory Fuel Co. Coffee House, along with figure drawing sessions, art classes, a plein air meetup, annual Plein Air Festival and more art events and instructional series.
Fifty members strong and counting, the group has an inaugural Juried Art Show planned for July 2022, and is dedicated to continuing their mission of building a thriving arts community in the Flemington area.

A Fistful of Drawings is a special exhibition paying homage to Sergio Leone’s films coinciding with a performance by Arthur Vint featuring works by film-score composer Ennio Morricone.
A Fistful of Drawings, based on a graphic memoir of the same name, weaves together Ciardiello’s Italian family history and the mythology of the American West while paying homage to Leone’s films and the classic Westerns of the ’50s and ’60s. Ciardiello’s sinuous ink line and vivid watercolors illuminate the oversized characters that dominated the cinematic American West ― featuring John Ford, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Claudia Cardinale, Sophia Loren, and many more.
PLEASE NOTE: the exhibition will not be open to the public between April 11 – 29 while ArtYard’s gallery is closed.

We question, explore, interpret, and sometimes just make. Our art informs our teaching in a way that no textbook can. We are busy people and we struggle to make time for our art. The inclusion of our art in this show is a celebration of all the hard work we do to stay artistically connected and committed to the process. Whittemore is at its core, a nature center. The earth, the soil, plant life, the physical land is the heart and soul of WCCC. At WCCC, actual physical seeds take root and grow. THAT is, as well “planting its own seeds”, connecting artists who live and work throughout Hunterdon County with each other and the community.
Our 180-acre preserve was bequeathed to Tewksbury Township by our beloved Helen A. Whittemore. She was a nature lover and diarist who wanted her land and house to be preserved so that others may be awed by the natural world and inspired by its beauty to preserve it.
Our preserve includes Whittemore House, Whittemore Meadows and 11 miles of trails for hiking, dog walking, and exploring, photographing and painting nature. Trails traverse mainly wooded areas with wetlands, ravines, and hilly terrain. The preserve also serves as the perfect stage for birders and nature lovers to view local avian species and other wildlife.
How does the beauty of Whittemore inspire you? We are so excited about the partnerships we have forged and the programming we have lined up. From talented painters, certified master gardeners, award winning musicians, children’s camps, environmentalists, and a whole host of talented professionals and enthusiasts, there are so many ways to explore the beauty of our own backyard. We can’t wait to see you!
